Although virtually all doctors think they should report impaired or incompetent colleagues or serious medical errors to the relevant authorities, nearly half don't.

I'll say one idiot told me the doctor made the error that almost cost my daughter her life because I did not vote in the federal election......never mind that I not only vote but often volunteer campaign etc.....imagine the nerve. Dr Anne France Jaworski was her name.Prescott Ontario.

Litha ....how would they know if you voted or not ?
And how is that related to an error made by your doctor?
I am confused by your comment.
Was this particular Doctor using the current government as an excuse to not do her job...if so you must report her...

My point exactly, when I called the doctor on the mistake that was made, not only a mistake but then ignoring the proper diagnosis for another day that was made by a third doctor, I was confronted by the stupid statement about voting right out of left field completely, so imagine my confusion, she absolutely refused to bring the conversation back to the medical mistake and continued on with the accusation about my voting habits, it was totally bizarre.........they tried to let her die, to cover their mistake, not expecting me to bring in another Doctor..........she was reported and I tell everyone I know to run far and fast from her.

I have been torn apart by problem docs for years for bringing up error. They try to make you feel as if your crazy. They also retaliate if you report the error, play games and leave you high and dry. They are never or very rarely accountable for what they do wrong.
