After Ireland passed a plastic bag tax in 2002, nearly everyone switched to cloth bags. Within weeks, there was a 94 percent drop in plastic bag use. Within a year, nearly everyone bought reusable cloth bags.

Thank you Ireland for showing the world that this can be done without any problems to the shoppers. Now if we in America can do this things might start looking up into reversing the destruction of our planet.

This is great news. Jelly fish are the sea turtles favorite food and plastic bags look exactly like
jellies when in the water. What happens is the turtles eat these bags and their stomachs get
full of pieces off plastic so the feel full and stop eating. This cases them to slowly starve to
death or bigger pieces get lodged in their food passages and the just choke to death as do
whales.
