It happens when he's let out on bail without a condition that he discontinue treating patients. The prosecutor and the judge would be the ones who dropped this ball.

I think "dropped the ball" is an understatement. To not put a hold on his practicing medicine considering he had 600 (can you say sicko?) images, is a hint enough that this man should have had his lisence to practice suspended pending the outcome of the trial or such. At the very least, he should have had a notice put on his name and license that he was under a criminal indictment---even if they did not state what it was for---that way, he could not have taken a job anywhere. Creeps me out he was in a "family" practice....I really hope he had no contact with children or "pre-teens!!!!!"

With all he has done, he should loose his license to practice medicine, period! Not just children, but anyone.

TO ME THIS IS ANOTHER CASE OF HOW OUR SYSTEM FAILS US. IF A POLICEMAN IS BEING INVERSTIGATED, HE IS USUALLY SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, WHAT MAKES A DOCTOR ANY BETTER? ESPECIALLY IF HE ADMITTED TO IT. OUR SYSTEM IS BULL AND DOES LITTLE TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT, BUT MUCH TO PROTECT THE GUILTY. IT'S ABSURD. SUCH SICKO'S LIKE THIS SHOULD BE COMPLETELY AWAY FROM OUR CHILDREN, OUR SOCIETY, AND BANNED FROM USING MEDICAL KNOWHOW TO PROCURE JOBS ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES, OR IN FACT THE WORLD. IT IS OUTRAGEOUS, BUT THAT IS HOW SO MANY CRIMINALS SLIP THROUGH THE SYSTEM, BECAUSE THE SYSTEM ISN'T SEVERE ENOUGH FOR THEM TO STOP, AND THEY KEEP GOING ON. IT IS RIDICULOUS!

The problem here is the legal system. In order to stay out of jail until his trial, he would have to be out on bond. Besides having to put up money, a defendant can also be required to meet certain criteria to qualify for release until trial. For instance, in some places, if someone is charged with a sexual offense involving children, they are not allowed to have contact with children. If a person violates a condition like this, the bond is revoked and he has to go to jail until trial. This man could have been required to discontinue the practice of medicine in order to receive bond. The prosecutor could request it. The judge could order it, whether the prosecutor requested it or not. He could also be placed on electronic monitoring. Compliance can be monitored by the court, police, probation, and others.

To affect his medical license, someone would have to file a complaint and due process rules followed. This would take a while even if it was successful. There would be issues of innocent until proven guilty, etc. Then the only way the medical board would know if he was noncompliant would be if he was practicing and someone who knew he wasn't supposed to found out about it then notified the board.

I imagine this guy got preferential treatment because he was an m.d., worked for the gov't, had money, and lots of people don't take pornography very seriously.

I can only hope that he isn't a pediatrician. Send him to prison. They know what to do to him in there.

This is what happens when we are too busy fighting a "War on Terror" and ignore the WAR ON OUR CHILDREN. This country is failing its children miserably. The sickos out there know not much is being done to stop them so they have become more brazen. Wake up people, the dangers are right here in our own backyards. IF we don't shift the focus to protection here in our communities, the criminals will become more empowered.

Bring our troops home and send the Republican pedophiles to fight in I raq. with the rate of casualties over there increasing we may be able to get rid of them.
