Parents who smoke often open a window or turn on a fan to clear the air for their children, but experts now have identified a related threat to children's health that isn't as easy to get rid of: third-hand smoke.

Thanks for this Eric. Nothing new really. 40 years ago my mother-in-law smoked so much that she had to paint the entire interior of her home every other year. No matter what beautiful colors she used on her walls, her walls were a dirty, dingy looking yellow after 18 months. Also, at that time I took a trip with my sister and her husband, they both smoked and thought it funny to blow smoke in my face....I have NEVER smoked. After 4 hours in the car, my car, the inside of the windshield was so dingy from their incessent smoking that I hardy had enough visibility to drive. When we got to our destination I washed all of my car windows on the inside. My car smelled terrible for weeks....UGH!!!!! They thought I was being rude for complaining about their smoking and asking them to not smoke in my car!!

It's Disrespectful of your sister(Harlot)and brother in law (pimp) smoking in your car. If smokers want to kill themselves let them they should Not expose us to their Filth. They keep Governments HAPPY. You av to set rules Marjorie NO LIFT IF SMOKING. No smoking in your house . . .

Well I wonder where these chemicals are coming from because they aren't naturally in tobacco. All these toxins are added to cigarettes. Pure tobacco contains none of them. Why are these things added?

The tobacco industry researched how to make tobacco MORE ADDICTIVE for many years.. They discovered many chemicals that would do this, and they gain potency by being combined together.. The fact that they are all poisons does not bother the industry or smokers for that matter..

Legislation could easily ban this toxic practice, but it keeps generating addictive profits for the industry.
