Stop Norway From Hunting and Killing Minke Whales - TAKE ACTION

Animals  (tags: Norway, Whales, Minke, Hunting, Killing, Whaling )

This year, Norway will hunt and kill nearly 1,300 minke whales in defiance of an international ban on commercial whaling. Norway sees itself as a progressive and modern country, but this year's quota of 1,286 minke whales puts Norway years behind the time

In this day and time, the act of whaling is setting your country bakcwards in time. by a hundred years or more! No longer, do you have to depend on whaling to survive....in these modern times we all should be PRESERVING and PROTECTING these majestic animals.
It is time to take a stand to protect and preserve the majestic animals NOT KILL THEM!
Thank you Merissa for this post and Borg, my friend for the forward! I will sign as many as you want to stop this insanity!!!

We should nurture compassionate thought. Since we wish to live, we should not kill any other living being. Furthermore, the karma of killing is understood as the root of all suffering and the fundamental cause of sickness and war, and the forces of killing are explicitly identified with the demonic. The highest and most universal ideal of Buddhism is to work unceasingly for permanent end to the suffering of all living beings, not just humans. The doctrine of karma teaches that any wrong behaviour will have to be paid for in a future life - so cruel acts to animals should be avoided Buddhists treat the lives of human and non-human animals with equal respect Buddhists see human and non-human animals as closely related: both have Buddha-nature both have the possibility of becoming perfectly enlightened a soul may be reborn either in a human body or in the body of a non-human animal Buddhists believe that is wrong to hurt or kill animals, because all beings are afraid of injury and death: All living things fear being beaten with clubs. All living things fear being put to death. Putting oneself in the place of the other, Let no one kill nor cause another to kill. Dhammapada 129
