TWIGGY'S BETRAYAL AND INTERNATIONAL ANIMAL RIGHTS DAY PREVIEW

Twiggy has confirmed her betrayal of thousands of defenceless creatures by accepting a lucrative advertising contract with the ‘Olay’ cosmetics brand which, like Herbal Essences, is made by Procter & Gamble and contains the same chemicals that they have cruelly tested on animals. She had previously supported campaigns against animal testing for cosmetics, such as this Boycott Herbal Essences project and the Compassionate Shopping Guide. Click here for the full story.

Meanwhile, it would be fantastic if you could join us for the only campaign directly promoting legal rights to protect animals from deliberate cruelty. International Animal Rights Day on 10 December is a unique event being marked in towns and cities all over the world.

Animal advocates will be holding candlelit vigils and other actions to raise public awareness of animal abuse and stimulate debate about why animals deserve basic protective rights. This peaceful and dignified campaign aims to build widespread support for animal rights so we have the necessary democratic mandate for their legal recognition. You can also now sign the Universal Declaration of Animal Rights here, which we will submit to Government in support of the campaign.
