i just want a laptop that will keep functioning for 5 years or more without crashing or falling apart. longevity of a machine has got to count for something in greenness.

Well, my Powerbook 12inch Mac has been going flat out since july 2003 and has given me great service with minimum problems like crashes and other general PC problems. I would recommend a Mac to anyone and it looks like Cuppertino is working on not only making the best but also a green one as well. About time I reckon as my wife is considering a computer of her own and a green favored Mac will be ideal.
