Wow thanks, that's really useful, especially to someone on as tight a budget as I'm on.

Good info, thanks, Jollygirl.

For beauty products, using actual food for substitutes even gives you better resultss. Why spend $20 on an exfoliating cream that has papaya in it, when rubbing a slice of papaya on a clean face works way better. And for amazingly deep cleaning on your face, nothing works like pineapple, it unclogs pores.

For an exfoliating mask, use eggwhite. Or wash your clean face with oatmeal, leave it on for awhile and it really soothes skin.

Pure jojoba oil is the only (?) oil that penetrates down into the hair shaft/down to the living skin, and it's cheap!

Personally, I just love undermining the cosmetic industry with its psychological warfare on women, its cruelty to animals, and its obscene pricing.
