Politics in the Zeros: Spread the meme. Republicans are the party that wrecked America. John McCain’s long history with bank failures and financial scandals makes him uniquely ‘qualified’ to speak to the current crisis.

The next time a Republican friend says McCain is ready to Regulate the financial world... Refer them to ProgressiveAccounting.org
for a really long list of all the DEREGULATION McCain has supported over the past 26 years to get us into this mess.

Then suggest a vote for Obama.

And Blue, don't forget that it was Phil Gramm, Senator McCain's top
economic adviser who sponsored a bill that took the power out of the
Glass-Stiegel act. This made it possible for large brokerage firms to
act like banks, leading to the chaos we have today.

Thanks Jollygirl.

Robert, we're all in way over our heads. The issue has become
who might help drain the pool and who might just actually drown us.

Thanks again Jollygirl.

Well, like a withered stone, fears will pierce your bonesFafblog! interviews John McCain, and doesn't shrink fromthe hard questions: "Now look John McCain, everybody wants to shut down children's hospitals, but how're you really gonna do it what with all the Washington gridlock and the Beltway infighting and the fatcat lobbyists from Big Children? I mean Ronald Reagan promised us he'd destroy the government and twenty years later we're still stuck
with a functioning public sewage system." And McCain doesn't shrink from the hard answers on the war! "And, and the first thing we have to do is let General Petraeus finish the job of securing Iraq for the Iraqi people, a proud and united people, so that it doesn't fall into the hands of their enemies, the Iraqi
people."

This shows very limited understanding of what is going on. Neither Obama or McCain will run anything and they both are in favor of this "bailout" robbery (which our children will pay for) which makes them both TRAITORS! America has been wrecked by the corporate banking elite and ALL the presidents who do their bidding. To say that Republicans wrecked the America is incredibly ignorant. NOTHING WILL CHANGE FOR THE BETTER UNDER OBAMA OR MCCAIN! Rather, both will continue to lead us in the same direction toward Globalism! We are not going to change anything for the better until we accept this fact and stop living in a fantasy world!

I've got to agree with Robt. Marsh II:
Why anyone on the face of this Earth would
WANT to be the next President of the U.S.
is totally beyond me, but may God help that
man to do the best job he possibly can.
Thank you, Jollygirl!

The thing that caused the melt-down was the greed of the financial world in treating the debts of the people as a commodity that could be bought and sold for a profit. Until such greed is regulated out of the system I can see no way out of this muddle...added to that the West is paying trillions for a war that should have never been and the mess gets worse and worse...
...when it's broke it needs mended.

I agree with David here..and beleive that the unregulated ,pigs at the trough, free market, should now be consigned to the dustbin of history.Mark it "failed experiment",file it with Eastern Bloc economies,dictatorships,monarchies..and worst of all fascism.
We know what doesnt work..lets look at what does. For me that means Scandanavian type social democracies, with the best of the market and socialism combined. On every indicator of a good society, social cohesion, health outcomes, equality of opportunity and democracy,i would say that the imperfect, but very satisfactory Swedish model, is the best ,that we have so far produced.
Praise be to Olaf Palme .

An election official in Utah was asked not to come back to his job for asking too many questions about the Diebold voting machines he was in charge of...

Lawyers from Diebold told him he would not be coming back to work...

Private corporations friendly ONLY to Republicans now control voting machines, who gets to look inside them and which election officials get to keep their jobs... but only if they stay quiet..

This story was featured on CNN with Lou Dobbs.. he shows how easy it is to steal an entire election in 60 seconds or less... with no proof that it was ever done.

We still need to get out and vote, no matter what... but urge legislators to offer a paper ballot alternative or a mail in voting system..

For example, Oregon mails in ALL OF THEIR VOTES... not one electronic voting machine, not one polling place... that takes care of a lot of the fraud and scams that happen.
