'Child Credit Protection File' Service Petition

Child identity theft is growing at an alarming rate and according to the Federal Trade Commission, now "spreading like wildfire". ID thieves are now stealing the social security numbers of children and ruining their identities and their futures. Ages range from newborns to those 18 years old. Once they become 18 years of age, they cannot get a student loan, bank account, cell phone, a job, driver's license, secure a place to live and other necessities of life. TransUnion, Equifax and Experian are being urged to help parents protect the social security numbers and identities of minor children by providing the "Child Credit Protection File" service. If you are a parent or guardian of a minor child, please sign our "Child Credit Protection File" service petition. You may also submit the FREE "Child Credit Protection File" parent request form that goes directly to all 3 major credit bureaus at once.

We the undersigned request that credit bureaus help parents and guardians protect the social security numbers and identities of minor children, by providing the "Child Credit Protection File" service. This service would ALERT creditors if an ID thief attempts to open an account or apply for credit, using a stolen child's social security number. We as parents and guardians are willing to pay a small one-time fee for such a service that protects our minor children until they become 18 years of age, at which time the "Child Credit Protection File" can expire. Thank you for considering our concerns as parents and guardians of minor children who need to have their futures protected.
