Urge U.S. Dept of State to O.K. Animal Evacuations from Egypt

Please urge the U.S. Department of State to include companion animals in their evacuation of American citizens from Egypt.

The riots and political unrest in Egypt has led to the United States evacuating U.S. nationals from the country.  Evacuees are currently not allowed to take their dogs and cats with them on the planes back to the United States.

This leaves the evacuees with an impossible choice: abandon their pets or remain in Egypt and risk their own lives.

The U.S. Department of State is currently reivewing plans to evacuate pets from situations like this in the future, but your signature could help make their decision sooner and include pets from the Egyptian evacuation.

Dear U.S. Department of State,

We the undersigned are aware that the U.S. State Department is currently evacuating U.S. nationals for their own safety, from the political unrest in Egypt. The current laws prohibit these individuals from bringing back to the United States their beloved cats and dogs.

The current laws are causing the evacuees to make an impossible choice: leave behind their pets that will face a certain death or risk their own lives by staying behind to care for them.

We the undersigned,  urge you to please reconsider your current policy regarding these pets and allow evacuees to bring them back on the planes and home safely.

Thank you for your consideration,
