IT'S NOW OFFICIAL.... Hudson River Island Park HAS MADE THE LIST OF PARKS TO BE CLOSED!!!!!!!
Help us work to stop the closing of%uFFFDHudson River Island Park. This park%uFFFDis one of only two public camping%uFFFDspots listed%uFFFDby the NYS Department of Parks, accessible to boaters, along the 315 miles of the Hudson River.%uFFFDIt has become an oasis away from the hustle and bustle for Greene, Columbia and Albany County boaters that regularly frequent it.%uFFFD It is also a beautiful%uFFFDdestination for tourists enjoying one of the the most recongnizable waterways in%uFFFDNew York State. %uFFFDThe government is trying to take away one of our most precious retreats because they were unable to spend their money wisely and it's time for us to speak up! The taxpayers are the ones who aren't getting a fair shake so let them know we're not happy about it! We need all the help we can get!!!!!
We the undersigned are pleading to stop the closing of the Hudson River Island Park. This park is one of only two public camping spots listed by the NYS Department of Parks, accessible to boaters, along the 315 miles of the Hudson River. For Greene and Columbia County boaters who frequently visit the island it has become a home away from home; an oasis to escape the hustle and bustle of the day to day. Those who visit from outside the area revel in its beauty and truly appreciate having a place to come to while enjoying one of NYS's most recognized backdrops, the Hudson River. Please do not take away this retreat which has held such a special place in so many peoples hearts.
