Ban Fenced Hunting in Indiana!

Indiana legislators are considering a proposal to legalize hunting preserves where hunters can shoot animals kept in fenced areas.

Indiana's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) banned fenced hunting in 2005, but owners of the five currently operating preserves were granted the right to keep holding private wildlife hunts.

The DNR wants these hunting preserves shut down, and their views are backed by several hunting organizations which are concerned about deer at the preserves spreading diseases to wild deer. The preserves keep animals in crowded conditions, which aids the spread of illness.

Shooting animals in fenced-in areas is not sportsmanlike, and keeping animals for this purpose is cruel to them and threatens wildlife. Please urge Indiana legislators to place a complete ban on fenced hunting in their state!
