Declare that Everyone Should Have Access to Affordable Medicine

The rising price of medicine has devastating consequences for the people we love. Many skip their medications, are forced into poverty and even die because they can't afford the medicine they need. In fact, 10 million people die each year due to lack of access to medicine and in the US alone, 40 million seniors can't afford their prescriptions.

There has to be a better way. This problem can't be tackled by just one country though. It needs a global response.

Global priorities for the next 15 years are being decided now at the United Nations, during talks for the 2015 Sustainable Development Goals. We must act now by telling world leaders that access to affordable medicine needs to be on this agenda.

Dear World Leaders and UN Ambassadors,

I believe that everyone should have access to affordable medicine.

To help make this a reality, this must be a United Nations 2015 Sustainable Development Goal.
