The Bahamas is an archipelago comprising of 700 hundred islands and cays. With some of the most pristine ocean water and the third largest barrier reef in the world, which gives life, to a variety of marine life, lush vegetation and pristine beaches. The Bahamas can be described as a tropical paradise with immaculate natural beauty. It is home of thousands of pink flamingos, sea turtles, iguanas, sharks, whales, dolphins and green turtles.
The prospect of energy exploration and oil drilling in the Bahamas is becoming a major concern for its citizens. As this action can have potentially devastating consequences on the country's tourism and fishing industry, along with impacting the ocean and costal areas natural habitat.
Until a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework is established to protect the Bahamian waters and people, the government needs to declared a moratorium on exploration and suspended all further licenses and renewals of oil drilling in The Bahamas.
I need you to sign and support this cause by telling the government of The Bahamas to do not conduct exploration oil drilling.
Save The Bahamas the isles of paradise!
