Justice for Gary and Cheryl Young: Stop the Parole of Stephanie Griffith

Stephanie Griffith was indicted on two counts of complicity to commit murder and one count of burglary in the first degree in connection with the shooting deaths of Gary and Cheryl Young.   According to the record, on or about January 14, 2004, Griffith aided or counseled her boyfriend, Andrew Young, to enter or remain in the residence of Gary and Cheryl Young for the purpose of committing a crime and also engaged in conduct which provided Andrew Young the means and opportunity to shoot and kill his parents.

Griffith entered a guilty plea on January 30, 2006, to the amended charges of two counts of criminal facilitation to commit murder and one count of complicity to commit burglary in the first degree.   Pursuant to a plea agreement with the Commonwealth, she was sentenced to five years' imprisonment on each of the facilitation charges and ten years' imprisonment on the complicity charge. Her sentences were ordered to be run consecutively for a total term of twenty years' imprisonment.

On 12/19/2007, Stephanie Griffith was denied parole by the Kentucky Parole Board and it was ruled that she would not be eligible for parole for 96 months (2015). A new law has since been passed that allows her to be eligible in December 2012, three years early.

Stephanie played a key role in the Murders of Gary and Cheryl Young and should not be permitted to return to society. By signing this petition you are confirming to the Parole Board of the Commonwealth of Kentucky that justice has not been served for Gary and Cheryl Young, thus Stephanie Griffith should not be granted parole.

On behalf of the family, we thank you for your support!
