Stop A Canadian Historical Site From Becoming A Parking Lot

The Lundy’s Lane Battlefield of the War Of 1812 is in danger of becoming a parking lot for townhouses.  The Battlefield School, a publicly owned facility for over 135 years and deemed a National Historical Site, has been slated for demolition.  Stop the irresponsible local politicians from removing this cultural treasure commemorating the outcome of the War Of 1812 and the Black, Aboriginal and Women’s History associated with the site.

Send the City Council of the City of Niagara Falls a message they can’t ignore.  Let them know that you oppose their proposal to change the zoning bylaws to allow the commercialization of this National Historic Site.  With this being the 200th anniversary of this historic conflict and its creation of a peaceful border, we need to embrace our Canadian Culture and preserve this site.

We request that the school property, IN ITS ENTIRETY, be retained in public ownership, rezoned to Open Space, and conserved as a commemorative park.
