There only around 200 tigers remaining in Thailand, - 38 of them at an important tiger sanctuary in Huai Kha Khaeng. Recently the tigers on the sanctuary have been poisoned; lured by meat laced with insecticide- leaving two cubs dead near the meat and the mother taken by poachers.
The Indochinese tiger is already under threat from shrinking habitat, illegal trade in tiger parts for traditional medicines and a scarcity of prey. With only 3,200 wild tigers remaining worldwide, we ask Thailand to support conservation efforts and protect critically endangered tigers and their habitat in the park from this newest threat to wild tigers.
