Research affirms that those who have an attitude of gratitude are happier, healthier and have better relationships.

Pledge to strive to approach each day with an attitude of gratitude (not just a designated Thanksgiving Day).

One practice that facilitates this is identifying 3-5 things to be grateful for each morning and writing them down.  Some things frequently put on such lists:

The love of others in one's life
Waking up in the morning
Rain to turn things green
A beautiful sunrise
The affection of pets
Making a difference in someone else's life
Having food to eat
Having shelter
Being warm in winter
Being cool in summer
Having the use of hands
Having the use of legs
Special occasions to celebrate
Opportunities to express oneself
Having choices to do or not do
Having an income
Being able to read
Having internet access
Making a new friend
Having telephone service
The flower that bloomed yesterday
A beautiful sunset
Clean water to drink
Receiving a hug
Receiving a smile
Receiving a positive call
Receiving a message or email
Hearing good news
Having transportation
