Tell the EU to Keep Its Promise to the World's Poor

In the fight against extreme poverty, European Union aid has made a huge difference. Between 2004 and 2009 it has helped enroll more than 9 million children in primary education, vaccinate more than 5 million against measles, and connect more than 31 million people to clean water.

Last year ONE members and activists successfully campaigned for the proposals on the next seven year EU budget (starting from 2013) to include an increase in international aid. But this life-saving proposed budget is now under threat.

The EU has made amazing progress in the fight against extreme poverty, but we can't afford to back down now. Urge our leaders to agree to the level of international aid proposed in 2011 and ensure the EU continues to build on our progress and fight poverty around the world.
Dear European leaders,

During your negotiations on the next seven year EU budget please agree to the level of international aid proposed in 2011, to ensure the EU continues to build on the amazing progress it has achieved in the fight against extreme poverty.
