Ho,HO,HO. The taxpayer just got Hosed by Paulson. Corporations steal your money and are rewarded for their reckless behavior. Government Sponsored taxpayer handouts take the risk out of Felonious behavior.
In essence, The taxpayer is screwed twice and the consumer takes all the risks. Certainly, this Santa only gives to the naughty Girls and Boys! Anyone want to win the Corporate Lottery? It's a WIN,WIN!!!
$800 Billion More For the Economy
|
U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson announced that an $800 billion stimulus package would be used to make more lending available to consumers. About $600 billion will be used to buy up mortgage-backed securities while $200 billion will be for unfreezing the consumer credit market.
From BBC News... The announcement came as Commerce Department figures showed US economic output shrank between July and September at a faster pace than initially predicted, which the White House described as "troubling." GDP fell at an annual rate of 0.5% in the third-quarter - from the 0.3% estimated a month ago - as consumers cut spending by the largest amount in 28 years. "This is why we are having to take such bold actions," a White House spokeswoman said. While at least there is a plan as to how to use this money, does the government have a limit to the number of stimulus and bailout packages? It seems like they're giving them out at least once a week... Here's a (terribly wonky) video of Paulson's speech about the package: news.bbc.co.uk Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Our Elected Officials are failing US(A). Or, are they conspiring against US(A) for their personal profit (Have's/Have More's) and their good buddy cronies, just like the megalomanic-war-monger-Bush?
"Conservatives" have tried destroy our Constitution and Bill of Rights in their greedy lust for World Empire and POWER...
A "Conservative" is a person willing to destroy our Nation, air, land, water and people for their personal profit.... They need to be tarred and feathered and shipped to China on one of their Container Cargo ships.

Give to the people, it would make it possible to catch up on the bills that the rising costs of gas and food have created. Why make it possible for people to borrow money when they already are in debt. If the banks were paid back the money they had already loaned they would have the funds to start loaning again, maybe with a better judgement on who to loan to. There are too many people living on an income of less than $1000 a month. Try it, its not easy, you end up sitting at home worried about the light bill and being able to buy groceries, and if you income is $45 higher than what is allowed to get food stamps they seem to think that you can survive. That $45 dosent go far to feed you for a month. Help the people who are struggling to survive, not the people who just want a new car or more "stuff". There are people who dread the holidays because they know that they cant do for their loved ones, wonder what they will put on the table when others sit down for a great turkey feast.
If everyone had to sit down to beans and taters, or mac and cheese and just be thankful that they werent going to bed hungry maybe the way the money was handed out would be different. This holiday season those people with needs should be put before bailing out businesses who made bad decisions. Think of the disabled, the seniors, those with single parent households. Make a difference in the lives of the people down the street--your neighbors who silently are trying to survive.
