Barack Obama Wins In South Carolina

1/26/08 -- Posted by Catherine Morgan

In a not so big surprise, Barack Obama wins the South Carolina primary. What was a surprise though, was the large margin that he won by.
With 99 percent of the electoral precincts reporting, Mr. Obama had 55 percent of the vote, Mrs. Clinton had 27 percent, and Mr. Edwards had 18 percent. -- The New York Times

I hope the results of this primary has shown the Clinton campaign, that using Bill Clinton to serve as Hillary's attack dog, is not the way to go. Ultimately, the only candidates that will benefit from this type of behavior, are the Republicans. And, even though John Edwards didn't do so great in South Carolina today...He was the only voice of maturity and reason this entire week.

With that said...Barack Obama delivered another "slam-dunk" victory speech tonight. This is a man that can really inspire and empower a crowd. If you missed this speech, it is definitely worth watching...

I still want John Edwards. He's a forthright humanitarian. With him in the White House we could dare look forward to a few years of righteousness.

I agree with Brigita, but what worries me is he won't put his hand on a bible??? And hate to bring the obvious, first the U.S says radical Muslim, bin laden and terrorists, al-quaida, etc... And Obama supposed step father is a radical muslim? And S Carolina picked him, did all the Church, GOD fearing Carolina good people forget to show their presence.I am Sorry won't tell the truth, won't touch a BIBLE, and hides issues in his family that could affect us. And now Ted Kennedy uses Jack's speech to help him, ?question- if Obama needs Oprah, and now the Kennedy name and Jack's past I say Nostradamus said evil comes from the west, Heeellllooo we are the WEST, guess use good people to cover your dark secret scares me.

To tell you the truth US elections are like a Hollywood movie. Every candidate says, I will do this or that and they carry on to defeat opposite candidate with character assassination? Those who won, don't show their face to the average American who voted for him, nor do they play an active role to improve the lifestyle of the poor and middle class. And the President is busy sharing out tax dollars to his favorite rich class while Majority of Americans loose out in our society. There are 380 Americans in our nation who own three times the wealth of the world. Whereas Middle class or the poor are loosing jobs and their homes.

What is missing in the elections are people with wisdom and intelligence? Look at the people who stand up they are very rich, so hoe can they understand the plight of the middle and poor class of people.

In this election they are talking about change. Non of them say that there should better representation for all classes of our society, like 50% of Congress seats needs to go to women nor do they say there will be a percentage from the middle class as well as the poor class.

As long as the current form of election the powerful rich who do not care for middle class or poor class. Therefore our democracy applies to the rich whose sons and daughters do not do to war, like sons and daughters of middle and poor class sacrifice their lives for the nation, in the phony Iraq war.

Therefore we need to bring morality in our elections, make room for the middle and poor classes to be representatives, so that they too can take care of their people. Also we need to stop donation from public and Industry to the people who stand up in elections. Actually giving donations is like a bribe which gibes birth to corruption which hurts the majority of Americans.

Actually the election commission should decide how much money will each candidate should receive to stand in an election. But that money should not be given to each candidate till the election start up begins. As every one gets the same each one will need to use their brain, rather then their money or donation money to get elected.

Each person who stands up will submit their bills to election commission within the limit set for each and every elections. Not the candidate but the election commission will pay all bills the candidate sends to election commission. If he breaks the limit, Election commission won't pay extra money and the candidate will need to step down.

Also elections for judges should not be based on party politics, for justice has no color red or blue. This way all people will get fair and square justice and then Supreme Court won't be bias as was the case in elections for 2,000 in Florida.
