Breaking: Congress Passes Bailout Bill

The Bailout Bill has just passed. I will include more links and video to this post as I get it. Until then, what do you think?

From The Associated Press..

With the economy on the brink and elections looming, Congress approved an unprecedented $700 billion government bailout of the battered financial industry on Friday and sent it to President Bush for his certain signature.

The final vote, 263-171 in the House, capped two weeks of tumult in Congress and on Wall Street, punctuated by daily warnings that the country confronted the gravest economic crisis since the Great Depression if lawmakers failed to act.

I will continue to update this post.

Let's talk about the pork...

Once again Congress, looks out for what is best for Corporate America, ignoring the "MANDATE" of the people!!! The people did not want this bailout, it does not benefit the people!!!
How much "PORK" was in this "BILL"???
It seems to me that every hand in Washington, had their hand in "OUR" cookie jar!!!
Getting "ROBBED" once, just wasn't enough, for those who are grabbing the cash with both hands, on their way out!!!
Was this not the straw, that broke Americas back???
Whats left in "FT. KNOX"??? I.O.U.'s to us, and our children's children???
How much longer, before we cry "FOUL" and "TREASON"???
We have given our nation to the "BEAST"--- "RUN FORREST RUN"!!!

On a bit calmer note than the comments I just read, and don't get me wrong, they have a right to be angry. Am I angry? Not going to put that kind of stress on myself, we the people must keep our minds in a state where we can think clearly about decisions we are now being faced with, I am very sad at heart that it took place. And now my future generations will have the excessive burden of having to finish fixing what our generation has created.

Do I believe it will take several generations to fix it? YES! This country and it's people did not get here overnight, and we will NOT get out of it over one generation. But we must make drastic changes, all of us as a nation or it will take more years and suffering than anyone has even thought about before we will see healing take place.

I told my family when I heard this bailout was being looked as a a solution, "get prepared, this is NOT going to work, and we are all going to have to batten down the hatch and put our noses to the grind stone or we won't make it through this, and we must prepare our future generations for that which is to come that they must deal with".

Well, I get to vote for DeFazio. His opposition to the bailout cemented my vote. All four Senators that'll appear on my ballot (for whatever office) lose my vote because of their support for the bailout.

This bailout shows that there is a need for new leadership and vision, someone who can communicate with us in a manner that shines a light of truth upon the problem, then offers hope and possible solutions

There is an important, but relatively unknown man of such wisdom. He is not a religious leader but a Spiritual teacher. His name is Maitreya, the World Teacher. And we will all see him soon.

Look for a man who speaks of sharing and cooperation, of brotherhood, trust and justice. He comes with a plan to provide all with the basic necessities of life: food, clothing, housing, medial care, and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond their control.

The time has come for an economic system based on the principles of sharing and cooperation rather than greed and competition. We must see humanity as One.

Freedom and Justice are essential to all, everywhere, without exception, and can only be achieved by trust. Only sharing can create that trust and set humanity on the right path.

Another panicked buy-in to one more steaming pile of Bushit! Why can't people see this is another successful ploy to see to it that our government lacks the resources to solve any real problems in the future. Polson has already gone on record to say this problem is the fault of "future administrations". Too bad he didn't use his gift of prophecy to head off the problem. This is what happens when we silently condone idiots heading for the voting booth with the flag over their eyes and their heads up their ass! I especially blame all the "Christians" out there that allowed their faith in God to be hi-jacked by the Republican Anti-Christs. Step back from the altar and recognize the truth that none of the intolerance and hate you have supported would ever have the approval of Jesus! If God has abandoned this country, it is not due to the atheists and humanists; it is due to the fact that "Christians" chose to have faith in the words of deceivers, and not in the words or spirit of Christ.

This is the most egregious act of elected officials screwing the american public that has ever happened. The pork is certainly disgusting, but the whole bill stinks to high heaven. No penalties to the people and businesses that profitted from the banking fiasco, and free money from american taxpayers in the process.Whereas the language of the poster above is strange I can completely agree with his main point and I feel so sorry for the people of this country and the resulting mayhem that will result.I am just disgusted by our elected officials and there will be hell to pay in the future, what future this country has.

How can we recall the senators who have attached all of this pork to the bill? This is so unscrupulous! So evil! Here we are, with a huge unmanageable debt that we will have to pass on to our grandchildrens childrens children - and these criminals can not pass an important bill without adding tons of crap to it!
