As he began his nine-day trip to the Middle East, President Bush said on Wednesday that he saw a historic opportunity for peace in the troubled region. Bush said he hoped to see an end to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by the time he leaves office in January 2009.

As President Bush spoke out about the prospects for peace between Israel and the Palestinians in 2008, protesters in Gaza were shouting "Death to America! Death to Israel!" in Gaza City.

We just can't get this guy out fast enough. His wonderful "peace" trip to the Middle East also included this little nugget to Israel's PM Ehud Olmert:
In public, President Bush has been careful to reassure Israel and other allies that he still sees Iran as a threat, while not disavowing his administration's recent National Intelligence Estimate.

The much-rumored plans of attacking Iran appeared to have been put on hold in the second half of 2007. By fall, the talk of an Iran attack by Israel and/or the United States had almost come to a halt. George Bush, in his trip overseas to the Middle East, has stepped up the talk against Iran again.

Its just that our soldiers have been thrown into the middle of this meatgrinder and they are dying. Every single day.
And, weren't 14 of the 19 "hijackers" on 9/11 Saudis? So why are we selling weapons to the country from which the people who attacked us on 9/11 were from? Wouldn't that be a treasonous act? At least raise some eyebrows?
