Do you think Hillary Clinton should drop out of the race given the fact that Barack Obama is leading with 1,859.5 delegates to her 1,697?

513 votes

Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney (60, Republican) was born in Detroit, Michigan. His father ran for President in 1968 and his mother ran for the U.S. Senate in 1970. After serving a two-and-a-half year Morman mission to France, he went on to finish college as valedictorian at Brigham Young University. He graduated cum laude with a joint JD/MBA degree from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. As former governor of Massachusetts, he reversed the state fortunes, added 60,000 new jobs and championed a package of education reforms. In 2006 he signed into law a market-based insurance law that ensures every Massachusetts citizen will have health insurance. He is known for his role in turning around the 2002 Winter Olympics. He and his wife, Ann, have five children.

Romney believes achieving energy independence will come from a combination of efforts including developing alternative sources like biodiesel, ethanol, nuclear and coal gasification and drilling for more domestic oil such as in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He is against sweeping mandates like Kyoto.
Romney supports the war in Iraq to stabalize the region. Effective strategy to fight the Jihadists includes military and diplomatic actions to support modern, mainstream Muslim nations and building a broad-based international coalition to promote education, international trade and human rights.
Romney is against gay marriage, civil unions and gay parents. He has taken a moderate stance on special programs for women and minorities. He strongly supports the Patriot Act. He supports some gun control, including a ban on assault weapons.
Romney believes we can improve the health of our nation through market reforms (not government programs) that extend health insurance to all Americans. He believes individuals should have responsibility for their own health care.
Romney believes we must raise the bar on education by making teaching a profession, focusing on math and science, measuring progress and involving parents. He believes in choice, charter schools and vouchers. In general he supports less federal involvement in education.
Romney believes lowering taxes and simplifying the tax code are keys to growing our economy. He also supports reduced borrowing and special interest spending. He believes in reforming our entitlement programs.

Mitt Romney... Love him or hate him, I had full confidence that he was the only choice on the GOP ticket who could completely carry on in "w"s footsteps.

I breathed a huge sigh of relief when he pulled out of the race!

ok, FIRST HAND ON MIT ROMNEY THE PERSON, and if he would be the ONE CHOICE.LOL NO WAY. I am homeless with a mortgage, Thanks to Mit Romney and his inabilities. He only cares about the super rich in BOSTON and the surrounding area.
I need everyone's help. My family friends and church
believe we need everyone's voice, (God children in one
voice cannot be ignored). Please I was forced from my
home July 20, 2006. Not one Senator came to my aid,
all threw me back to the curb(figuritive). All saying
unable to help and not their concern, 11 attorney's
took my money, but all in the end unable to help:
saying it is a career buster?? Well, I don't think
standing together and helping one child of GOD is a
Career buster.
Please I did everything a person, hard working, honest
person is suppose to do and now live in my car because
of a corrupt town and neighbors.
Please I need everyone's help.
Thanks Jim
I have been trying to get this corrected and have had
every door slammed. Every Goverment official kick me
out, advising this is a voting year and they will not
help, or care too????
I have tried to hire 11 attorney's and none want to
ruin their career, but gladly took my money. I am
broke and homeless for the last 2 years with a
MORTGAGE???
Please if you can post a link on your web page, talk
about this on your show, if you have an emailing, let
everyone know so they can have their friends and
family also help.
Thank You James Almeida
And my to you and your obvious ability to ignore a
voter/resident/civil rights victim.

Mitt Romney has been my choice for quite awhile now. After reading his stances on the different issues, it just reaffirmed my belief that Governor Romney will best lead our country.

Hey "truth truth," I just want to tell you to please not make generalizations against mormons. I'm a mormon and I am absolutely for gay rights and gay marriage, and have a number of gay friends who I respect very much. Just because Romney is against gays doesn't mean all mormons are. And come on, it's not like most other christians aren't also against gay marriage, etc.

I am so tired of hearing people cry, why persecute Mitt and Mormons for their beliefs? Let me explain, their beliefs hurt and hinder the progress of other groups of people in our society. Mitt and his Mormon faith continue to persecute and ensure that gays do not receive equal rights across the board in our nation. Mitt and Mormons embrace inequality. This is simply wrong regardless of what ‘religion’ says.

If gay people can be legally discriminated against, and sometimes even killed, for their sexual orientation by government and society, let Mitt FEEL and EXPERIENCE the persecution, too.

I think Mitt Romney could be a great President, religion aside, he has the strength to lead this great nation, has the moral fortitude and Christian values. I'm glad he can change his mind about critical issues as new research comes forth. Will we find the perfect canidate no? No, but I believe he's got what it takes to turn this country around. Plus the sucessful big business background so needed.

Boy is that a crock of BS if I ever heard any.
Where are those jobs he talked about ?
Why didn't he mention the Big Dig fiasco in Boston that cost tax payers a bundle and went on for years trying to repair because it was never done right in the first place and why doesn't he tell you about the money for education he cut to the bare bones for the city I live in and why doesn't he mention that the health care bill he talks about has a manditory requirement and the people here don't want government telling them they have to buy into some expensive HMO and why doesn't he tell you that he quit as Governor early in his term to run for president when he still had plenty of time to finish his term and campaign.
There is a lot he will never tell you this man with the flashy smile who acts like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth and talks out both sides of his mouth.
He fooled a lot of us in Massachusetts don't let him fool you too.

I don't like his positions, but I have to say he deserves my respect for being the only Republican candidate that still has his first wife. And he is a Mormon!
