Many Matters at Once: Social Good and Politics Meet in Denver

This is a guest blog post from the Democratic National Convention.

On the bus last night to hear Senator Hillary Clinton's speech, I met a young City Council member and non-profit executive from Albany, New York. Corey Ellis, a Barack Obama delegate, is the Program Director of Trinity Institution's Family and Neighborhood Resource Center. The institution serves the poor in his city, for example providing a successful program tutoring young adults who want to receive their GED (General Education Diploma).

Corey understands that for many young people in his district, a GED can be one of the only gateways to a job rather than prison. I was moved by Corey's passion and positive influence in his community. Corey is knocking down barriers that for many of his parents' generation were concrete and absolute.

Corey left a successful consulting practice in New York City to go back to his hometown of Albany to serve his community - a path in many ways similar to that of Barack and Michelle Obama. After hearing Michelle Obama's speech at the convention Monday night, Corey realized he had internalized his own barrier - could he too become President some day? In his work, perhaps a greater number of young people who see a role model in Corey will be motivated by his leadership to achieve their own personal goals.

Corey is one of the most dynamic young leaders I have met at the convention this week, during a week overflowing with unprecedented inspiration. If Corey is an indication of the kind of unified civic leadership Barack Obama will attract throughout American cities and rural areas in the next administration, the country has exciting times ahead.

I have checked mcbush's voting record and when he was there hardly voted that is when he was there. Then to count the times he wasn't there. All he is is another bushwacher and we have had 8 years of that we don't need any more of mcsame. Check out vietveteransagainstmccain.com. That one isn't as good as he says he is. He also isn't prolife like he says he is. He is only saying things to make himself look good. How many houses do you have also do you wear $520 shoes. How many people are out of jobs and houses up for sale because people can't afford them. It is time for a change and it is time for Obama and Bedin.

Let's hope Cory does not belong to the same church Obama does. My church does not say God Dam America and talks hate against blacks. My church talks about unity of all colors....Obama's church of 20 years is opposite to the KKK, but worst! Wake up Kath Delaney. In order for everyone to come together a church such as the one that Obama attended should be shut down along with the 60 colleges that support blacks where no whites are allowed...what is that crap! Suck up all you want but most American white families are sick of all the bullshit, we a sick of paying taxed to other peoples kids, when we can not get government grants for our own kids who are poor and in living in the streets...grants go to immigrats, blacks and hispanic! White people are being violated! I think its about time we have only white televison, white news, white colleges and so on..why not the blacks do it all the time get away with it... what do you call that. Where is the fairness in your articule....This election has opened my eyes to Black Liberation Partry. What's next opening up the American borders straight thur Africa... Oprah supported Obama before 2000 and she belongs to the same church, she makes her money her and then builds school in Africa...there are plenty of poor kids of all colors here in the US... NO BAMANATION!
I AM VOTING FOR WWW.JOHNMCCAIN.COM
FAIR FOR PEOPLE OF ALL COLORS....www.JohnMcCain!

What everyone is missing here is that these guys are Democrats and a true Democrat is supposed to be true to the party and not question the ranks. The Clintons tried and Obama used reverse racism to silence their voices for a time. There is no difference betwwen the Democratic Party and the gangs in the streets where fellow gang members choose fellow gang members as family and to hell with everyone else. Up until now, I have been a die-hard Democrat, But my deal is COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY. The DNC stole the election from Hillary and with a wink brainwashed many into believing it was the Clintons who did wrong and that the Clintons were racist. What a thankless lot. It is pretty much the blind leading the blind. I will not be a part of this atrocity. I choose not to blindly vote for Party Y when I know he is not qualified. I do not care what Pelosi, Dean, Brazile or Clayburn says.

The democrats will stoop at nothing! As I watched Obama’s convention and then Hillary’s speech NOW SUPPORTING HIM, I felt like throwing up! Then Bill Clinton’s speech NOW SUPPORTING HIM! It is a well-known fact that Bill hated Obama and Oprah. Her and Bill sold out to pay Hillary’s 20 million dollar debt that she owes to the Democratic Party. How low can one go! JOE BIDEN IS a CROOK WITH 36 YEARS IN CONGRESS and when he ran for president at the primaries he received less that 2 percent of the votes. Then OBAMA PICKS HIM AS A RUNNING MATE…HILLARY HAD TO EAT SHIT TO PAY BACK HER DEBT! I have no respect for this woman what so ever and take a good look at Bill Con.

Obama is a non-voting Illinois freshman senator- the only accomplishments he achieved is with the black community and of course his racist church of over 20 years… As a senator, he was not doing his job! How can people be that stupid not to check his voting records? I cannot believe this has gone this far, since when is congress a Hollywood production! Wasteful government spending, most expensive campaigning in the history of congress between Obama and Hillary. Their won’t be any CHANGE IN MY POCKET LEFT!

It is evident how much the Democratic Party cares about the American people and it is evident what change is…this is the biggest screw job of the century! If by a narrow escape this blasphemy gets threw the door, you bet we will all pay for this
