Health Care in the U.S.

Americans have lost confidence in the U.S. health-care
system and are eager for reforms that will free them from
worry about losing coverage if their circumstances
change or if they fall ill.

These days, Congress is debating various health-care bills,
some states are taking matters into their own hands, and
the presidential candidates are crafting widely diverse
strategies for reworking the system. As this national
debate on the health-care crisis heats up, it is important
for all of us to know the facts about health care in the
U.S., and what we can do to improve our system.

Test your knowledge of health care in the U.S., and

Coverage for all uninsured children.

Protection against financial ruin due to a major illness or accident.

The ability to obtain coverage regardless of a pre-existing condition.

Coverage that continues even when people are laid off, changing jobs or starting their own business.

Premiums, deductibles and out-of- pocket expenses that are affordable relative to family income.

The ability of people to keep their current health insurance if they choose.
