It depends.
I'm not sure.

quite a suitable age, I think. But of course that depends on the child, if he/she is not mature to that, then skip this first year.

If the child was in a learning based preschool and is mature for the age then possibly yes. Generally, age 4 is the perfect age for half day Pre-K. The following year they are more prepared for full day Kindergarten. My daughter's birthday was near the cutoff: she could have started Kindergarten but would have been about the youngest and smallest in the entire grade. We held back and worked on her social skills over that next year (singletons have a difficult time sharing, taking turns and learning the real world does not revolve around them). We also built up the aura of 'big kid school', real school. You are going to love learning to read and write and have your own desk and lots of new friends. Reading will open the doors of your imagination. When she entered Kindergarten she was one of the most ready, best behaved, eager to learn kids in the grade. It set the tone for success for the rest of her education. To this day we are very happy we made that decision. To be perfectly selfish about it, that was one more year she was home under our influence. Some kids were easily a year younger and struggled to keep up socially and academically. Some of those children were retained in K,1st or 2nd. There is no sense rushing a child that is not ready.
