Should parents ban junk food from kids?

Poll Results: 883 votes
Yes, some junk food should never be consumed.
No, that will just make kids want it more.
I'm not sure.

Are there some foods your kids should just never eat?

I think a total ban does not prepare children to live in the real world. They have to learn to moderate their cravings and indulgences.

I also think complete bans on things like junk food and television just teach children to sneak off to their friends' houses for "real fun" and become adept at lying to their parents and having unhealthy secrets.

If potato chips and chocolate are going to send mummy and daddy over the edge, where do they turn if they need birth control? Would they let you know when their classmates are smoking or drinking?

Surely you can find a way to make sure some of their favorite "treat" foods are healthy without turning your home into a prison compound.
