i believe that no animal should be killed for food, but as i have very little hope that that will ever happen..at least if every part is used i guess it makes it a bit better...so wearing leather does not kill an animal just for that, whereas animals are killed just for their fur..which is for adornment and no other reason...and in many cases the rest of the animal is waste...

I would never wear either. Fur is murder, leather is murder. Fur, is killing an animal. Leather, is killing an animal.

Sorry I flipped out on you but seriously, why don't you want to accept the facts?

Oh by the way June, in the U.S we are NOT humane. Shut up, sit down, and watch Earthlings. Get educated before you speak. Do you even know how animals are slaughtered? Look up the Humane Society and see how many pending lawsuits they have against factories. Not much results comes from these lawsuits however, as there aren't good laws and strict prosecution.

Wow June, are you kidding me? Someone please help her out. We, in America, buy products from China and thus are supporting them. I do not watch videos because I enjoy it, that is a STUPID accusation. The videos need to be seen so people KNOW the truth behind labeling of fur. In a study by the HSU I believe it was, Faux fur from a coat tested positive for cat DNA. People deserve to know where products they are buying come from and how it's made.

Tarryn my friend, you must watch Earthlings. Most leather comes from India and is exported worldwide. You are correct in saying that a leather is a byproduct of the meat industry, but most leather comes from cows that must go on a long journey without food/water to a city where they can be legally slaughtered. Tail breaking and rubbing of spices in the eyes are both methods of getting the animals to keep moving

I do believe there is a difference as cows are not murdered for thier skin, it is a by product of cow farming for beef and dairy. If we don't not use any leather the same number of cows would still die and the skin would just be wasted. Many other animals such as seals, bears and even dogs and cats are killed only for the fur so if we did not buy it people would have no reason to kill the animal.

I don't believe there is any moral difference between wearing fur or wearing leather. They both require the death of an animal; and, in many cases that death is frightening and painful to the animal. Being a vegetarian, I don't see any need for either fur or leather.

I don't eat meat, but I will wear leather sometimes. Firstly because it's hard to avoid, especially when replacements are so harmful to the environment and second, I can't really walk around in jesus-sandals in -10 Celsius. I do shop for shoes, handbags in second hand shops a lot, though. So even though my purchase might not be entirely vegetarian, it strives to be eco-friendly.

OMG Andres; Why would you even think of looking at such horrible videos!!! Only sadists would look at such disgusting videos. In the USA we think of ourselves as humane & I believe we are. We have no control over what China does.
We should be concerned about how we kill the animals we consume not how China kills the animals they consume. I still believe they are not skinning animals alive!!
