No. The body is designed to detox its self as a matter of functioning on a day to day basis.

However, there is research that shows fasting now and again(no food only water) for as little as 16 hours a day(sleeping time is included!) is extremely beneficial to the body.

It turns on some amazing survival genes that have "super powers" to defend your body from invaders(ups your immune system-hyper) and slows aging by about 1/3.

As a diet, no. A light detox a couple of times a year is good.

The occasional detox is good for you, but if this is a poll about a detox diet to lose weight, I don't think so.

I believe that they may. Although I've never tried one, I think that anything that would "flush" you out from time-to-time would probably be a good thing. Animals do this in the spring when they eat grass.
