Kids who learn many languages are far better off than people who don't, and it is easier for little kids to learn things.....they are too young to think of it as work too,

The younger the better. Some of my grandkids learned 2 languages from the beginning.

I would say as soon as possible if the child or parent/guardian really wants her/him to continue that language when s/he grows up. Even if s/he doesn't, it's still a good thing to be bilingual or trilingual.
