Only in politics it seems.

There are degrees to this. How many people will go through a red light, because they're either in a rush or can't be bothered slowing down to a stop? How many people will tell little lies to either improve their own image, or deflect criticism away from themselves? I think people lie and cheat at all levels of societies, especially in the so-called developed world, if it suits them to do so. Prospective candidates will promise the earth to get votes. Some will say whatever they need to go just get an easy life. Men will say anything to a woman to get her into bed. . . and of course, with social media, lying or deceiving has never been so easy, as you can't even tell by watching someone's body language whether they might be genuine and sincere or otherwise, because you're reliant on just words, and language and communication is so much more than just were words, that it's never been so easy to get ahead in today's world by mere opportunism

maybe.....would like to say No, but I look at the election and don't see the GOP running on policy, but full of tricks to block voters, intimidate voters, re-align districts, and on tons of negative, and if not false close to it, ads.....based on the ones I have sat through online and heard on radio.....

Apparently, there is a double standard for this in the world- people don't bat an eye when corporations, politicians, police forces, etc, lie/cheat, it's like people think "Oh this is just how things are, nothing we can do about it", but let an individual try it, and see how fast his/her peers turn on them!
