I love my pets but I would give the guy a chance. Could be he has an allergy or some deep rooted fear of them. Try to get to the root of the problem first. Its a hard call as they all deserve your consideration.

try to figure out why/what they don't like about him....
The animals are probably right so I'd watch the guy if it doesn't change after a while.... He's not for me.

As I picked the pet, something in me was drawn to it... a pet generally wants a few things from its owner; food, attention, to play... if the pet "communicated" with me, I reckon they would be wanting to tell me something important...

Wait and see, but if my pet still didn't like them after a while, I'd get rid of the date. Nothing stands between me and my babies :)
