I actually had this exact question come up in a class I took last month. I wonder if the person who started this particular poll was in that class, too?

In general, the wealthy seem less inclined to be more compassionate about the world, the people in it, and animals, and more inclined about how to increase their own personal estates. Having compassion and/or a conscience, and having wealth as well seem like very rare combinations.

Apparently there is a psychological correlation between wealth and feelings of entitlement.

There doesn't seem to be much connection between having wealth and having any conscience in how one should live with one's wealth.

Money gives you the power to act, so if you have a "good heart" you act for the good of people. I met people whom had been poor when they were young and then made quiet good money and being without compassion for poor people. People are selfish or not, compassionate or not!
