Quails are the state bird where I live. Maybe that's why I've always had a special fondness for them. I've never thought of keeping them in the back yard, though. Among other things, we have lots of coyotes in our neighborhood.

No, I have never eaten quail eggs. In fact I hardly ever eat chicken eggs, for some reason...

I don't eat eggs because I'm vegan, but if you do eat them it sure would be a better choice for the most humanely raised eggs you can get.
