this isn't an issue in NZ, all coffee shops etc use ceramic mugs. the only time they use paper cups is for take out coffee and I rarely buy those

Yes, always! My locally-owned coffee shop also lets me bring in my own container when I buy dry coffee. I love that they have organic, shade-grown Fair Trade coffee beans for sale!!
