My daughter often wants to talk about people. We have started having discussions about how we talk *to* people, not *about* people. I am struggling with how to deal with weight issue, b/c swim lessons provides many examples of different body types. I am leaning towards helping her ask directly: "Are you chubby b/c that's the way you were made?" This is how we would ask about eye color or skin color, so I might go with this & just deal with what comes our way.

I will honestly admit to calling people fat or disgusting because of their weight behind their backs, say at the store or something. I really think people should crack down on their health and become skinnier and healthier
