I haven't been to McDonald's in years. Even when we did eat there,I didn't eat the fries.I ate the plain hamburgers. My mom liked the fish burger without the sauce and I could walk to the store and get her one as a treat when she was tired. It was .49 and something we could share. We ate natural German, homemade food the rest of the time. She lived to be 95. Everyday? Ridiculous. I saw a person dipping fries into mayo once. That's a person who has a problem.

It's a cause for other problems. Eating isn't the cause of all obesity.I know.I at oatmeal for breakfast. So did my husband. I'm not hungry. He wanted salad for lunch.I settled for 3 baby carrots (our dog gets one every noon) and 1 cup of seedless grapes. He ate the salad and the carrots and grapes. Tonite,we'll eat Indian food.1/2 cup Dal with cilantro, green peas and daikon radish. No oil. Chappati-which is wheat flour and water, rolled out and cooked on the gas burner. No oil. No salt. Lamb curry (it was my DH's birthday) made with 4 lbs of meat,1 cup of spices, 3 large onions,2 cups yogurt ,and 9 chopped tomatoes as well as enough water over the course of the next 3 hours to simmer it .It is my husband's favorite.I had one bite. I also made cauliflower & potatoes with shrimp and Basmati rice. He ate with gusto & second helpings. I ate my dal, cauliflower, one bite of meat, and one tablespoon of rice. Ok.I do snack on kosher pickles when I can get them. But I drink 2 -32 oz cups- of water a day.1 cup of coffee is my limit.Green tea , no sugar is my alternative to soda. Tell me I'm eating an unreasonable amount. I don't move around much because -I can't. I have 17 or 18 different medications.I take 43 pills a day, wear pain patches, a back brace, have a cane & a handicapped parking pass. I cook in 5 minute increments, rest,& continue.
H is 140 lbs.

It's a tough question. I'd like to see obesity properly treated, but I don't think it should carry the social stigma of a "disease."

Yes, because there are many medical causes for obesity (not just over eating) and the testing for these causes should be covered by health insurance.

I don't think so.
