No. Our children have no shortage of junk food options outside the school day. The least we should do is to help make their choices, in school, healthy(ier).

I don't think it hurts students to be away from soda pop for a few hours a day. They're surrounded by it the rest of the time. Let them know they can survive on water. It might be a novel concept for some of them.

Our children should be given the opportunity to choose; I don't believe that sugary drinks and food should be removed from sight, but that healthier options should be made more readily available. Also the proportion of sugary foods to healthy foods should be more equal than they are now - only a few healthy options in the very bottom row of the vending machines makes them unappealing straight away.
