I am fortunate enough to live in an area with exceptional public schools, but I think in other parts of the country, charter schools may actually advance students better.

depends...I see some really good curriculums taught and a lot of good teachers, but it probably depends a lot upon the location.

No. They cater to only a certain "group" including by religious preference and take away from the public school system.
