The belief that teachers are underpaid is probably the biggest publicly held myth I know of. When I was a recent graduate, I considered getting my teaching credentials to teach science and math in high school. The starting salary for this position far exceeded(I mean far) what my initial starting salary was at a pharmaceutical company as a Q.C. Microbiologist.

GROSSLY UNDERPAID for what we increasingly expect them to do for it... times have changed together with certain social set-ups, culminating in that parents have less 'parenting" time to spend with their offspring due to the ever increasing cost of living...
