Of cause. In Denmark all dogs MUST have a chipe when they become 8weeks old, else will the breeder get a "fine/bill". It is illegal to sell a puppy which dont have a chip, if some on tell the police tht a pup do´t gt the chip the owner wikl wet a fine at 2000 DKK pr.pup, so i a breeder g 12 puppies, the fine/bill wil be 2000DKK x 12 = hat s a LOT af Money, so ppl"remember to get their pups chiped "when they are around 7 weeks old. I LOVE that law. It make the dogs, cats, horses, ginnipigs, etc. much more "safe". if they get stlen or somehow "run/fly" away, and someone fid it.

It'd be one way to find them if they get lost.

I don't know. I guess it would depend if such a process was painful and the cost.
