All three of my daughters have attended the Clinton School for Writers and Artists because each one wanted a school where she could explore her creative interests in a supportive academic environment. Middle school students are at a particularly vulnerable point in their lives, and Clinton has provided a nurturing environment where students can stretch themselves academically and socially. Our new principal, Joseph Anderson, has a strong vision for the future and is working with teachers, students and parents to further expand Clinton's academic and artistic programming.

My daughter went to Clinton 2001-2003-a wonderful education, supportive teachers, fantastic principal. The 8th grade arts project involved outside mentors for the students as they worked on their graduation thesis in the arts. I mentored this project for 3 years and it was an incredible experience working with these students as they explored ideas outside of their everyday curriculum-an excellent school to encourage this kind of learning.

I love Clinton because my son loves to go to school , loves his assignments and feels part of a creative community. I love Clinton because the teachers know my son, his work is soaring and his exposure to the arts and culture of NYC are enhanced daily.

I work across the street from this school and see the children in the street play area at lunch recess. They are energetic and enthusiastic, but not rowdy. They seem to be a credit to their parents and teachers.

My daughter is in 7th grade at this school and I have found the teachers, prinicple, guidance counselors all very caring and helpful. It is a small school so children get the extra attention they need and the staff really care about each individual student and want to help them succeed. I would strongly suggest this school to parents of children who would be overwhelmed in a large school or who need individual attention.

I really appreciate the math and social studies teachers. Their methods of teaching these difficult subjects is great. The social studies teachers has mock trials/debate on the topics, which helps the students better relate to the subject matter (and retain information) by getting them involved; the math teacher has students write an explanations on how to correct incorrect math problems.
