How do I add my school to the contest?

All schools with kindergarten through twelfth grade students in the comprehensive database maintained by our partner GreatSchools.org are eligible for the contest and already on the contest website. Please read GreatSchools' FAQ on their data feed for more information on where the school data comes from and how frequently it is updated.

How can small schools win when larger schools are also competing?

Don't discount the power of small schools to organize their communities. In the last school contest, a school with only 315 students won the $20,000 grand prize.

I want to invite more friends to participate. How can I ensure I am getting credited for those referrals?

We encourage you to use the "Tell-a-Friend" tool included in the contest's website to contact your friends. All messages sent from that tool will automatically include a link that will allow us to credit your friends' votes towards your total tally.

To get to our Tell-a-Friend tool, visit your school's contest page and click "Send an email" or click on "Help your favorite schools win" and then click on the "Send an email" link.

You can also copy your unique promotion link and paste that link into your own email message through your email client. You will find this link on your school's page once you have voted and also in the "thank you for voting" email you received from Care2.com.

I tried to send an email to my friends using your "Tell-a-friend" tool but wasn't able to or got an error message. What should I do now?

Make sure you are only including your friends' email addresses separated by commas and avoid including special characters. Make sure you are only sending to 10 email addresses at a time. If that doesn't work, try to send your message to one friend first and then to two friends. Then try sending more.

What are you doing to prevent people from 'gaming' the voting system?

We share your concern. That's why we have implemented an industrial-strength CAPTCHA security field on our voting form to ensure that only real people can vote, not computer scripts.

Our vote-by-email system stops cheaters from using fake email addresses.

We log all the votes, so we know where they're coming from.

We have other processes on the backend checking for deleting duplicate records to prevent anyone from trying to game the system and vote multiple times.

We also watch the voting, and we'll investigate anything that looks like cheating.

I REALLY love my school! Can I vote every day?

Sorry - each person is allowed one vote during the course of the contest. But we like your enthusiasm! Channel that energy - ask your friends and neighbors to vote for your favorite school.

I was asked to vote via email, but I didn't see a message from Care2 in my inbox. What should I do?

Please be sure to add Care2 to your email address book/list of contacts. When you've done so, go back to the school's vote page and click on the link to re-send the confirmation email.
