Many of the villages of Rural England are characterized by having their own church, often hundreds of years old. Gravestones of all kinds mark the passing of somebody's loved one. From a simple slate headstone to granite crosses. Lichen covered and often leaning over after centuries of neglect. In Spring the ground is often carpeted with bluebells or wild daffodils. This image is from Lezant Churchyard, a small village near where I live. I have always been interested in black and white photography. This one was hand printed.
