| As a Wildlife Conservation Officer for the state of Pennsylvania I sometimes discover what may be considered rare and unusual. After learning the whereabouts of a bobcat den in my Clinton County district, I returned early the next morning with a portable blind and my camera. I was only able to get off a couple of shots using a telephoto lens and flash extender before the cat saw me. I didn't want to disturb it near its denning site, so I never returned again. I have only entered this photo in one contest and it stole the show, winning first place in the Wildlife Division, the People's Choice Award and Best of Show. - photographer, John Wasserman. |
