|I have always been fascinated with old disused roads, lanes and trails. This would once have been as familiar to the people of this lost community as the road by your house is to you. For a moment you can travel back in time to a simpler life and feel some of our lost history.. This picture is from the area around Quabbin Reservoir in Massachusetts. The project displaced three small towns to provide water to the city of Boston. It has long been a mine of scenic opportunities for those with an appreciation of the subtle shift of light and color. Long removed from development the area is uniquely unchanging while being always different.|
