Fishhook Cactus Flower, Canyonlands National Park, UT, USA, May, 1996. Canon EOS A2E, Canon 35-135 f3.5-4.5, Canon 25mm and 12mm extenders, tripod, Fuji Provia.

The fishhook cactus is named for the hook shaped spines, and the flower, a beautiful lavendar color, usually blooms in May in Canyonlands. This is one of my first attempts at macro-photography, and it's success is what prompted me to collect a few more macro gagdets! - Theresa Husarik, photographer.
