We have openings in our Redwood City, CA headquarters (or other offices if noted) for the following positions:


In-Country Partner (France, Netherlands, or Germany)

Care2 is looking for an individual to leverage existing networks to market and promote Care2’s services to both sustainable corporate brands and to nonprofit organisations, as well as to the agencies that serve these organisations.

Specific responsibilities will be agreed with the Business Development Director on a month by month basis and will include:

  • Identifying new opportunities with nonprofit and with agencies that serve them – including direct mail, digital, interactive marketing, consulting and public affairs firms
  • Prospecting and forging new relationships to boost the number of nonprofits that Care2 serves
  • Arranging meetings for the Business Development Director to attend either in person or via the telephone

What you will bring:

  • An existing network of nonprofit contacts
  • Experience of business development within the not for profit sector
  • Significant experience and recognised expert in all aspects of digital, with a strong understanding of lead generation and email marketing.
  • Proven results delivering fundraising campaigns (ideally within an international NGO)
  • Experience of working in an advisory role with a diverse range of seniority levels and markets
  • An assertive and persuasive negotiator
  • Fluent in English and at least one other language (French, German or Dutch)

Director of Business Development

 

Care2 is currently seeking a new, entrepreneurial-minded Director of Business Development based in Washington, DC (Flexible). The Director will market and sell Care2’s services to both sustainable corporate brands and to nonprofit organizations, as well as to the agencies that serve these organizations, while identifying new strategic growth opportunities.  The successful candidate will have several years of experience successfully selling products or services to nonprofits, or in a related consulting field, and will have a wide network of industry contacts. Previous consulting, nonprofit, fundraising or online experience is also a plus.  Previous experience developing cause-marketing campaigns in which nonprofits and for-profits join forces is also a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities with nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and with agencies that serve them — including direct mail, interactive marketing, consulting and public affairs firms
  • Prospect and forge new relationships to boost the number of nonprofits that Care2 serves
  • Meet face to face with clients regularly to strengthen relationships, boost awareness of Care2 services and obtain referrals
  • Meet individualized quarterly and annual growth targets
  • Monitor the success of campaigns and work with Care2’s campaign team to manage overall client satisfaction by meeting or exceeding client expectations at all times
  • Represent Care2 at industry conferences and networking events, including via speaking engagements
  • Maintain detailed records of contacts at nonprofits, and at the agencies that serve nonprofits; carefully log all encounters with clients and potential clients; keep in-depth history of issues raised by them and solutions provided by Care2
  • Track sales activities using Salesforce.com tools
  • Present new business ideas to the management team and help lead strategy discussions
  • Demonstrate individual and project management leadership within Care2
  • Help to establish alliances with other for-profits and Internet companies serving nonprofits
  • Be a thought leader at Care2, joining other sales team members in contributing to the formulation of our sales and B2B marketing strategies – as well as to overall company strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Several years of successful experience working with nonprofits in sales, business development, or marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to think on your feet, and to negotiate and close successful partnerships
  • Strong active listening, relationship building, consultative selling and client management skills
  • Proven ability to establish and manage lasting, mutually beneficial business partnerships
  • Network of contacts with leading nonprofits and agencies serving nonprofits
  • Self-starter, dynamic and able to thrive in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision
  • Superb writing, presentation and public speaking skills, and ability to interact effectively with teammates
  • Real interest in the environment, social justice, and socially responsible entrepreneurship
  • Strong work ethic and effectiveness at working collaboratively
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure and multi-task
  • Willingness to travel when necessary for in-person sales calls and industry conferences
  • A college education
  • Mastery of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Previous experience using Salesforce.com is a plus
